1. SHIVA NATRAJA - Dancing Shiva. said to be that Shiva is shown as the source of all movement within the cosmos, represented by the arch of flames. The purpose of the dance is to release men from illusion of the idea of the "self" and of the physical world. The NATARAJA pendant is said to be that of Shiva as the source of all movement within the cosmos, represented by the arch of the flames. The purpose of the dance is to release men from illusion of the idea of the "self" and of the physical world. The cosmic dance was performed in Chidambaram in South India, called the center of the universe by some Hindus. The gestures of the dance represent Shiva's five activities, creation (drum), protection ( "fear not" hand gesture), destruction ( fire) embodiment ( foot planted on the ground, and release (foot held aloft).

2. Standing Ardhnarishwara is a hermaphroditic Deity incorporating half Shiva, half Shakti. Holding a Hindu Trident. Shiva is Male, Solar, Rational. Shakti is Female, Lunar, Emotion. Ardhanarishvara represents the synthesis of masculine and feminine energies of the universe ( Purusha and Pakriti) and illustrates how Shakti, the female principle of God, is inseparable from (or the same as, according to some interpretations) Shiva, the male principle of God. The union of these principles is exalted as the root of all creation. The name Ardhanarishvara means "the Lord who is half woman." The origin of Ardhanarishvara lies in hermaphrodite figures in ancient Hindu and Greek cultures. The earliest Ardhanarishvara images are dated to the Kushan period, starting from the first century CE. Its iconography evolved and was perfected in the Gupta era. The Puranas and various iconographic treatises write about the mythology and iconography of Ardhanarishvara. While Ardhanarishvara remains a popular iconographic form found in most Shiva temples throughout India, very few temples are dedicated to this deity.

3. The Ferocious Kali - On the Battlefield: Shaktas identify absolute reality with the Goddess and her gentle or ferocious manifestations are but different aspects of her. Kali, although terrifying, is the mother of the universe and the destroyer of ignorance. Through Kali's grace the devotee is liberated from karma and the cycle of reincarnation (samsara).

Kali is a feminine form of the Sanskrit word kala, meaning "time" and "black." Thus, her name can mean, "She who is time," "She who devours time," "She who is the Mother of time," "She who is black," and "She who is black time." Kali's association with blackness stands in contrast to her consort, Shiva, who is white, like the ashes of the cremation ground (Sanskrit: śmaśan) in which he meditates, and with which they are both associated, hence Kali's epithet Śmaśanā.

Kali properly transliterated from Sanskrit is Kālī, which should not be confused with the common Sanskrit word properly transliterated as kali, meaning "terrible." They are grammatically unrelated, the first being nominal/ablative the latter adjectival. Frequent confusion comes in interpreting the kali yuga, or "terrible age," one of the four great ages (yugas) of Hindu cosmology, as conflated with the goddess Kali. This is mostly due to her appearance, which is often described as terrible and fearsome. In fact, the goddess Kali should not be confused with kali yuga, as her name holds separate and unrelated meaning.

4. Sitting Ardhanari Shiva is a hermaphroditic deity incorporating half Shiva, half Shakti. That is half male, half female. This deity shows that truth is not only available from either the male or the female side. Truth needs both approaches, ration and intuition, thought and emotion, sun and moon, introspection and action.

Ardhanarishvara symbolizes that the male and female principles are inseparable. The composite form conveys the unity of opposites (coniunctio oppositorum) in the universe. The male half of Ardhanarishvara stands for Purusha and female half is prakriti. Purusha is the male principle and passive force of the universe, while Prakriti is the female active force; both are "constantly drawn to embrace and fuse with each other, though... separated by the intervening axis". The union of Purusha (Shiva) and Prikriti (Shiva's energy, Shakti) generates the universe, an idea also manifested in the union of the Linga of Shiva and Yoniof Devi creating the cosmos. The Mahabharata lauds this form as the source of creation. Ardhanarishvara also suggests the element of Kama or Lust, which leads to creation.

Ardhanarishvara signifies "totality that lies beyond duality".
